Fusion Middleware Consultant

EDC is actively seeking a proven leader and Fusion Middleware Consultant (WebCenter). projects will include technical and consulting support for Oracle WebCenter Portal and Content, in addition to related technologies, including Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS), Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Identity & Access Management, and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF). Open to remote applicants. Responsibilities include:
  • Provide consultant and advisory services in the planning and execution of upgrading from WebCenter Interaction to Oracle WebCenter Portal 12c.
  • Develop a detailed plan for the upgrade from Oracle Web Center Interaction to Oracle Web Center Portal 12c.
  • Identify and validate software, hardware, integrations, security, network, and business requirements associated with the upgrade and compatibility of the target environment
  • Provide recommended sequence of actions/timeline for performing the upgrade, including functions to be performed by role
  • Develop a prioritized detailed plan for the upgrade path to Oracle Web Center Portal from Oracle Web Center Interaction
  • Identify phases or steps required before and after to the upgrade for the upgrade
  • Train personnel as needed in the use of the new Web Center Portal, specifically development and administration.
  • Perform as-is and to-be architecture analysis and develop physical and logical architecture models for the application, web and mid-tier environments.
  • Establish and apply best practices, to ensure successful implementation of solution designs through collaborative project team communication, planning documentation, system testing, and defect resolution.
  • Support the Analysis, Planning, Design, and Implementation of Oracle WebCenter Portal applications, including integration with Oracle and non-Oracle applications, upgrades and/or migrations from legacy Oracle and/or non-WebCenter platforms.
  • Provide senior-level technical troubleshooting on complex issues requiring rapid resolution related to Oracle Fusion Middleware environments.
  • Manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments.
  • Participate in project planning and project status communications.
  • Opportunity to provide mentoring to junior team members.
 Required Skills and Abilities:  
  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position as a NACI check will be required
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or another engineering major or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technical and/or consulting role
  • 5+ years of experience technical consulting (architecture, design, development, implementation, integration, and/or administration) in a modern middleware based environment
  • 3+ years of experience architecting, implementing, developing, and/or administering WebCenter Interaction and/or Portal with experience with two or more of the following technologies
    • Oracle WebLogic Server 11g/12c
    • Oracle Web Tier (HTTP Server and/or Traffic Director) 11g/12c
    • Oracle Identity and Access Management 11g
    • Oracle SOA Suite 11g/12c
    • Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) 11g/12c
  • Solid understanding of JavaEE, XML, Web Services, Web Servers, and Application Servers
  • Solid understanding of Oracle WebLogic (or other JavaEE AS) architecture and administration
  • Understanding of cross-product integration with Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
  • Experience with installation and configuration Oracle Fusion Middleware products in high-availability environments
  • The position requires the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Prioritization of day-to-day activities and long-term project-oriented tasks is essential.
  • The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:  
  • Experience working with Oracle WebCenter Interaction and upgrading/migrating WebCenter Interaction to Oracle WebCenter Portal and Content 12c
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware related certifications (WLS, WC, SOA/BPM, Exalogic, IdM, etc.)
